What Makes the HMD Vibe 2 5G Price Genuinely Competitive
The HMD Vibe 2 5G price of Rs 10,499 is not the only reason this device draws attention. HMD Global has packed the Vibe 2 5G with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a combination that handles everyday multitasking and 5G band switching without thermal throttling complaints common at this price tier. The phone ships with a 5,000mAh battery, a 50MP primary rear camera, and a 6.74-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. For Indian buyers stretching their budget to access 5G, the spec sheet holds up well against phones priced Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 higher.
Is the HMD Vibe 2 5G Price Better Than Rival 5G Phones Under Rs 12,000?
The HMD Vibe 2 5G price of Rs 10,499 puts it directly against the Redmi 14C 5G, which starts at Rs 10,999, and the Realme Narzo 70x 5G priced around Rs 11,499. Both rivals offer comparable display sizes and battery capacities, but HMD edges ahead on chipset documentation — the Dimensity 6300 benchmarks higher than the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE found in the Narzo 70x 5G in sustained load tests. Xiaomi’s MIUI bloatware remains a complaint among budget buyers, giving HMD’s cleaner Android experience a practical advantage.
First-time 5G buyers, students, and secondary-device users in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Indian cities form the clearest target audience for the Vibe 2 5G. HMD’s two-year Android update commitment — rare at this price point in 2026 — adds long-term value that rivals like Itel and Lava do not consistently offer. Buyers who prioritise software longevity over camera versatility or premium build materials will find the Vibe 2 5G a rational choice. Power users wanting AMOLED displays or multi-camera setups should look at the Rs 13,000 to Rs 15,000 segment instead.
“The sub-Rs 11,000 5G segment in India is expanding fast in 2026, and HMD’s Diwali Edition pricing strategy targets exactly the first-time 5G upgrader who needs reassurance on software support as much as raw specs.” — Market Analyst, IDC India
